Matsushita to Cease U.S. Compressor Production: Matsushita Electric Co., of Japan, announced it will stop production of refrigerator compressors in the U.S. as part of a global realignment plan. The Tennessee-based plant is expected to close at the end of this month. Compressor production will shift to the Asian region where demand is stronger, according to the company.
